Research interest and current activities :

 ·        Molecular mechanism of stress-tolerance in plants; Comparative genomic & proteomic approaches towards bioprospecting for stress-tolerant genes and their regulatory elements from wild sources.
·        Metabolic engineering of inositol/pinitol  biosynthesis for raising transgenic stress-tolerant crop plants .
·        Phylogenetic studies on inositol synthase: A genomic and proteomic approach.
·        Probing of active-site of eukaryotic inositol synthase : Biochemical & molecular studies.
